Kim Sellers E-RYT500 has been a student of Yoga for over 30 years, and began teaching in 1998. She teaches both public and private classes, and works with individuals and groups. Kim leads workshops and trainings in Yoga and Reiki, and is the creator, director, and lead teacher of both the Yoga for Your Life 200-hour Yoga Teacher-Training and Restorative YTT programs in South Bend, IN. Kim offers Yoga classes at Indiana University and Beacon Health Systems in South Bend, and has been facilitating Yoga sessions for cancer patients and survivors at Memorial hospital since 2005.
Kim was a primary teacher, founder, and director at Green Tree School of Yoga from 2007-2011, and has trained dozens of Yoga teachers and Yoga studio owners in both 200 and 500-hour level programs. She is one of the most visible and experienced teachers in Indiana, and was instrumental in bringing Yoga into the mainstream consciousness of South Bend by originating Yoga programs at many local venues.
Kim initially trained at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California, then went on to complete a second 200-hour Yoga certification through Yogamocean's alignment-based program, and a year-long Meditation teacher-training course through the Kriya Temple of Yoga in Chicago. Kim is a Reiki Master/Teacher, and a 2003 graduate of the Tao Mountain School of Traditional Thai Medicine, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a focus on Thai Yoga Bodywork.
She has studied with Kathleen Flanagan (Mendocino, CA) for over 20 years, and continues to deepen her knowledge of Yoga through study with other master teachers. Early teachers include HS Arun, Laura Antelmi, Manuso Manos, Rodney Yee, and Scott Blossom. Kim continues to study regularly with Doug Keller & Judith Lasater, with an emphasis on anatomy, kinesiology, & Yoga Therapeutics. Her extensive travels and experiences in India have enhanced her knowledge of the country's history and culture, and bring a deeper spiritual dimension to her teaching.
Kim is a graduate of Yogamocean's 500-hour Advanced Yoga Therapeutics program, and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. This combined with her background in western clinical laboratory medicine has given her a solid foundation in physiology and anatomy for working with clients in her private practice and in working with students bringing special considerations or injuries.
Kim is a certified Relax and Renew® trainer with Judith Hanson Lasater, and is listed on Judith's website: http://restorativeyogateachers.com. Kim currently leads workshops, teacher-trainings, active and Restorative Yoga classes in South Bend and Mishawaka, and travels to present as a guest teacher.
